Our dynamic logistics company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing improvements to inventory management processes. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution center and upholding our commitment to efficient logistics. You will work closely with warehouse staff, procurement, and management to ensure stock levels are optimal and reporting is precise. A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills are essential for this position. We pride ourselves on a safe working environment and expect all team members to adhere strictly to all safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inventory data in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Analyze inventory trends and provide reports on stock levels, turnover rates, and potential issues.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize loss and damage.
- Collaborate with other departments to manage stock rotation and obsolescence.
- Assist with the receiving and put-away process as needed, ensuring accurate recording of incoming goods.
- Monitor and manage inventory accuracy for special projects and promotions.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and quality control.
- Must be comfortable with lifting and moving inventory items, adhering to safe lifting techniques.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
