We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Shipping Clerk to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the outbound flow of our products, ensuring accurate and timely dispatch. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment details, and maintaining organized shipping records. This position is critical to our logistics network, ensuring efficient product movement from our facility to our customers. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to accuracy are essential. We prioritize workplace safety and require all employees to adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Your dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient shipping operation is highly valued. This role involves physical tasks, including lifting and moving packages. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders for accuracy.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and records.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and use required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance.
