Our Columbus, Ohio facility is looking for a Shipping Clerk to manage and coordinate all aspects of our outbound shipping processes. This role is vital to ensuring that products are dispatched efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all shipping regulations. You'll be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL).
- Verify shipment contents against order details for accuracy.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal departments and customers as needed.
- Operate shipping software and scanning equipment.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled and meet carrier requirements.
- Manage shipping supplies inventory and reorder as necessary.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving and checking in inbound shipments as needed.
- Apply knowledge of logistics and supply chain best practices to optimize shipping operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their services.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
