We are looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our essential logistics team in New York City, New York. This role is critical for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load, unload, and transport goods, ensuring the smooth flow of operations. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, precision, and adherence to all company and regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers with incoming and outgoing goods.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory locations.
- Follow all safety procedures and warehouse protocols to prevent accidents.
- Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed when not operating a forklift.
- Adhere to all traffic rules and safety regulations within the facility.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions and contribute to a safety-conscious culture.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory. Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Strong understanding of warehouse safety principles and procedures. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
