We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic warehouse team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This vital role is the first point of contact for all incoming goods, ensuring accurate receipt, inspection, and documentation of inventory. Your precision and efficiency will be critical to maintaining the integrity of our stock and supporting our overall logistics operations. You will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, identifying damages, and accurately entering data into our inventory system. Safety is our top priority, and all employees must strictly follow safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This position offers a great opportunity to learn the intricacies of warehouse logistics and contribute to a seamless supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments from carriers.
- Verify goods received against purchase orders and packing lists for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and route incoming materials to appropriate staging or storage areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks as needed.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks if certified.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with WMS or inventory software is a plus.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safe lifting techniques and general warehouse safety practices.
- Willingness to consistently wear required PPE.
