Our growing logistics operation in Sacramento, California is seeking a dedicated Shipping Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments. This includes preparing necessary documentation, liaising with shipping partners, inspecting packages, and maintaining detailed records. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be critical to ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the integrity of our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Generate and manage shipping labels, packing lists, and bills of lading.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx, freight carriers).
- Conduct thorough inspections of outgoing shipments to verify order accuracy, proper packaging, and labeling.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers regarding shipment status and any potential issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping station equipment, including scales, printers, and scanners.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company shipping policies.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in the loading/unloading of freight as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Perform other related duties to support the overall logistics function.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Capability to perform occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
