Seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, inspecting outgoing packages, and maintaining shipping records. This role is crucial for our logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to accuracy, we want to hear from you. You will be a vital part of our distribution team, contributing to customer satisfaction through reliable shipping.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for accuracy, proper packaging, and correct labeling.
- Verify shipping addresses and ensure all shipping requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales, printers, and scanners.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized shipping area.
- Perform other administrative and logistics tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and online carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety and material handling.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
