We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Receiving Clerk for our busy logistics facility in San Francisco, California. This role is crucial for ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. You will be responsible for verifying quantities, checking for damage, and accurately documenting all received goods. The Receiving Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the efficient flow of products through our supply chain. The ideal candidate has experience in a warehouse setting, a strong understanding of receiving procedures, and a commitment to Safety. You will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Document discrepancies, damages, or shortages accurately.
- Enter receiving data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) in a timely manner.
- Tag and prepare received items for put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to Safety and inventory control.
- Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as directed.
- Perform tasks that may involve moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
- Ensure efficient flow of goods into the warehouse, supporting logistics operations.
- Promote and uphold high standards of workplace Safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is required.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting and material handling.
- Understanding of receiving procedures, inventory control, and logistics principles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
