Are you meticulous and organized? Our dynamic logistics hub in New York City, New York, has an opening for a motivated Shipping Clerk. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the accurate and efficient preparation of outgoing shipments. Your duties will include verifying order details, selecting appropriate packaging, labeling shipments correctly, and coordinating with carriers. This position requires a keen eye for detail to minimize errors and ensure that products reach their destinations safely and on time. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment and provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While this role may involve some lifting, the primary focus is on accuracy, organization, and documentation within our logistics operations. Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse work is highly valued. Join our team and play a key part in our supply chain!
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently, verifying order details against products.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and ensure shipments are securely packed.
- Apply correct shipping labels, tracking information, and any required documentation.
- Schedule pickups and coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS).
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and update tracking information in the system.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for quality and adherence to standards.
- Liaise with warehouse and sales teams to resolve any shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, and maintain a clean work area.
- Assist with receiving functions as needed to support overall logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a shipping clerk or similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals is a strong asset.
- Ability to handle moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs) occasionally.
- Strong understanding of logistics and shipping procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
