Canadian Fertility Consulting is one of Canada's leading surrogacy and egg donation agencies. We support surrogates, egg donors, and intended parents through every stage of their family-building journey.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our support team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health and social services, supporting surrogates, egg donors and intended parents. This role involves providing emotional, psychosocial, and practical support to clients throughout their journey. This includes conducting assessments, offering counselling, facilitating communication, and helping ensure all participants feel safe, supported, and informed. You will play a central role in guiding intended parents, surrogates, egg donors as they navigate the surrogacy and donation process.
Duties
- Conduct psychosocial assessments for surrogates and donors in accordance with ethical and clinical standards
- Provide ongoing emotional support and counseling to surrogates, donors, and intended parents throughout the surrogacy journey
- Facilitate intake interviews, education sessions, routine check-ins, and post-birth follow-ups
- Assess emotional readiness, coping skills, support systems, and potential risk factors
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case documentation in compliance with privacy regulations
- Support and mediate communication between surrogates, donors, and intended parents as needed
- Identify signs of distress and provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals
- Collaborate with case coordinators, legal professionals, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Ensure services align with organizational policies, professional ethics, and applicable regulations
- Provide post-journey transition and adjustment support to surrogates and intended parents
- Stay current with best practices in reproductive and family-building social work
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW) required.
Active registration and licensure in good standing with a Canadian provincial or territorial social work regulatory body, such as Registered Social Worker (RSW) or equivalent designation, is required.
- Eligibility to practice remotely across Canada, in accordance with provincial/territorial regulatory requirements.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in counseling, mental health services, reproductive health, or family-focused social work.
- Demonstrated experience providing emotional support, psychosocial assessments, and case management in sensitive or complex care settings.
- Strong knowledge of ethical practice, confidentiality standards, and privacy legislation applicable to virtual service delivery.
- Experience supporting intended parents, surrogates, or individuals undergoing fertility treatment is preferred.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport in a virtual setting.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple sensitive cases and meeting documentation requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and a client-centered, compassionate approach to care.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including coordinators, legal professionals, and healthcare providers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
