Cloverdale Paint is seeking an ambitious individual for a full-time position with full-time availabilityat our facility in Surrey, BC.
We are looking for someone to work full-time from Monday to Friday.
Wage is negotiable depending on previous experience.
Reporting to Laboratory Manager, the purpose of the Chemist is to collaborate with other chemists in preparing experimental samples and improving existing formulation and monitoring production batches as well as evaluate materials based on cost efficiencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and test new and existing materials based on effectiveness and cost efficiencies.
- Update existing formulations and manufacturing processes to ensure best technological and manufacturing efficiency and current regulatory compliance.
- Provide assistance to Production Department by ensuring that all formulations issued are accurate and process friendly.
- Coordinate with suppliers to keep abreast of new raw materials and technology available to maintain the highest quality formulations and processes.
- Update the knowledge and competency by attending relevant training available related to the paint industry.
- Ensure good time management to provide timely results when managing multiple priorities.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all project work carried out and provide weekly progress reports.
- Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained and constantly improve the standard of housekeeping of the laboratory.
- Update safety data sheets (SDS) to ensure health & safety compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent scientific field of study with 2-5 years lab experience.
- Previous work experience working in a paint manufacturing lab environment considered an advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively in cross-functional teams as well as with internal and external customers.
- Committed and dedicated team player.
- Must have excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office suites.
- Quick learner and detail oriented.
