We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front desk operations with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. This role requires excellent administrative skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with electronic medical records and dental management software is highly valued. The Dental Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth patient experience from check-in to check-out, supporting the overall operations of the dental office.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately.
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records using systems such as Cleardent. Training is available
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments efficiently while managing the appointment calendar.
- Collect patient payments, process billing, and handle financial transactions accurately.
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations and office policies.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry to support daily office operations.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient care continuity.
- Handle front desk duties including checking in patients, updating medical history forms, and managing patient flow.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office setting.
- Strong knowledge of dental practice management software such as Cleardent familiarity is a plus. training is available.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care to facilitate accurate record keeping and communication.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to manage scheduling and administrative tasks efficiently.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
