Position Overview
The SVP, Corporate Affairs will serve as a strategic leader responsible for advancing the company's public positioning and influence working closely across key functions, including: Corporate Communications, Government Relations, and Corporate Citizenship. This role will ensure these programs are fully aligned with the company's strategy and values, acting as the central connector across internal and external stakeholders to advance business objectives and critical programs.

This role partners closely across the organization, with a particular focus on external communications and brand elevation, Investor Relations considerations, and Corporate Development initiatives in alignment with Corporate Strategy. It is responsible for shaping and sustaining the corporate narrative, managing critical communications for the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, and leading initiatives that strengthen relationships with public, private and community partners.

The role will directly report into the EVP, CLO & Corporate Secretary, with strong dotted line direct engagement with the CEO, and cross-functional Executive Leadership Team members.

Key Responsibilities
Corporate Communications (Internal & External)

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the company's vision and business objectives.
  • Oversee internal communications to engage employees and drive alignment, partnering closely with key stakeholders.
  • Manage external communications, including media relations, product communications (in collaboration with Marketing), and executive communications
  • Ensure consistency and clarity of messaging across all channels and audiences.

Government Relations

  • Work closely to continue to build and maintain relationships with government officials and agencies to advance company priorities.
  • Monitor and influence policy developments relevant to the business.
  • Help represent the company in key industry and regulatory forums.

Corporate Citizenship

  • Partnership in designing, Leading and Implementing programs that demonstrate the company's commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
  • Helping to align corporate citizenship initiatives with business strategy and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public affairs, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to lead integrated strategies and influence at the executive level.
  • Strong understanding of external and governmental relations and corporate social responsibility.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Experience managing large teams and cross-functional partnerships.
