We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Co-op Quality Engineer. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager and will work in Vancouver, B.C.

**Please note that this position is open to current students enrolled in a Canadian accredited university and co-op program.

Vancouver:

Dometic Marine's headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Co-op Quality Engineer on the Vancouver team, you will be focused on supporting the development of connected systems within our dynamic manufacturing environment. Previous students have led the design and development of connected dashboards to visualize operational performance and product quality trends – we are one of the first teams in our company to implement these reporting and automation tools, and these students have been integral in shaping these systems. We work to tailor projects and objectives to our students' skillset, experience, and most importantly, interests. We want you to have a great experience

General Responsibilities

  • Hands-on involvement in:
  • Troubleshooting field failure products returned under warranty.
  • Supporting installation of new measuring equipment.
  • Improving existing measurement technique and conducting Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Perform time studies and identify opportunities to improve measurement processes.
  • Designing and building enclosures for test equipment.
  • Installing precision measuring instruments and optimizing inspection time on CNC machines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Data and Reporting:

  • Enhance automated data reporting methods using SQL or Power Query.
  • Develop and refine Power BI dashboards to visualize key operational metrics.
  • Extract and data analysis to improve Quality performance.
  • Use Minitab to perform statistical study and identify opportunities to improve.
  • Design and Automation:
  • Lead and execute Continuous Improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Learn and contribute to fixture design using CREO.
  • Automate repetitive data-related tasks and improve existing scripts using Python, PowerShell, Macros, and Power Query.
  • Documentation and Process Support:
  • Assist engineers in developing work procedures and instructions using MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Forms.

Skills & Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering program at an accredited university
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint; and the ability to learn other applications quickly
  • Experience with data Query tools (SQL, Power Query, Power Automate), programming/database development, and Power BI is an asset.
