About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to help manage daily operations on active construction sites and to lead and coordinate an existing on-site workforce of approximately 5–20 people. This role works directly under the Site Superintendent, acting as the second-in-command and ensuring the project progresses safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, organized, and capable of supervising labour, subcontractors, materials, and on-site logistics while maintaining strong communication with management.
Key Responsibilities
Support and work closely with the Site Superintendent to fully understand project scope, plans, priorities, and potential changes that impact cost or schedule.
Manage and supervise daily site activities to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to timelines.
Lead and coordinate the on-site crew, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and maintaining accountability.
Assist with planning and executing project schedules, milestones, and work sequencing.
Ensure all work meets building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Conduct daily site walkthroughs, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and progress reporting.
Manage materials, equipment usage, deliveries, and inventory; communicate needs proactively.
Oversee subcontractors and ensure work is completed to required specifications.
Troubleshoot issues on-site and escalate concerns to the Site Superintendent when needed.
Maintain accurate daily logs, including labour, materials, and site conditions.
Support quality control efforts and ensure deficiencies are identified and resolved promptly.
Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Construction Foreman, Lead Hand, or related supervisory role.
Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial construction practices.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
Effective leadership, team coordination, and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations (OH&S).
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
Assets (Not Required)
Experience in multi-unit residential construction or concrete/structural work.
Certifications such as Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid, etc.
Ability to operate small machinery or equipment.
