RS Foundation Systems is seeking a reliable Driver/ Shop hand to join our team.

Must be 25 years and older, please.

GENERAL

  • Work Hours
  • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required.

DRIVER / SHOP HELPER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow the company's most current HSE Policy
  • Follow all Safe Work Practices and Procedures
  • Maintain a valid driver's licence
  • Maintain a clean driver's abstract
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/50
  • Familiarity with RSFS trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Availability to work extended hours or occasional weekends if required
  • Follow rules and guidelines for hauling equipment, materials, and tools
  • Complete and understand strapping and load-securement requirements
  • Properly secure all loads before transport
  • Maintain driver logs; follow all transportation regulations
  • Maintain the equipment used for transport
  • Assist on-site as required
  • Take direction from upper management
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are completed properly and within required timelines
  • Maintain adequate housekeeping
  • Clean and organize the shop
  • Organize tools, equipment, and materials
  • Assist mechanics, welders, and the Shop Manager as required, following all SWPs
  • Arrive on time and leave at the specified time
  • Maintain daily communication with upper management

HAZARD ASSESSMENT

1. Vehicle Operation Hazards

a. Collisions & Striking Hazards

  • Risk of collisions with vehicles, equipment, or stationary objects.
  • Potential striking hazards involving pedestrians or workers.

b. Reversing & Visibility

  • Hazards associated with reversing in confined or busy areas.
  • Limited visibility increases the risk of collisions with pedestrians or obstacles.

2. Pedestrian and Worker Safety

a. Pedestrian Traffic

  • Risks when pedestrians and vehicles operate in shared areas.
  • Hazards due to reduced awareness of pedestrian movement.

b. Loading & Unloading Zones

  • Risks of collisions or struck-by hazards during loading/unloading.
  • Hazards related to moving materials or equipment around the shop.

3. Environmental Hazards

a. Floor Conditions

  • Slip, trip, and fall hazards from oil, water, debris, or uneven surfaces.

b. Ventilation & Exhaust

  • Risks associated with poor ventilation in enclosed spaces.
  • Exposure to exhaust fumes from vehicles or equipment.

4. Equipment Hazards

a. Mechanical Failures

  • Risks related to malfunctioning brakes, steering, or mechanical systems.

b. Maintenance & Inspection

  • Hazards during vehicle maintenance if not completed safely.
  • Risks associated with skipped or inadequate inspections.

5. Fire Hazards

a. Fueling Operations

  • Risks during fueling, including spills and fire ignition sources.
  • Hazards related to smoking or open flames near fueling zones.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
