Your Position & How You Will Contribute

Reporting to the Manager, Network Engineering, the Network Implementation Specialist will be a core technical contributor in the design, configuration, and optimization of our growing service provider network. This role demands deep, hands-on expertise with Juniper platforms and an intellectual curiosity for network protocols, system tuning, and proof-of-concept lab work. The ideal candidate takes full end-to-end ownership of site deployments, from initial turn-up through final optimization.

Responsibilities & Key Duties

  • Core Juniper Configuration: Execute deep-level configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting across our primary Juniper platforms, including MX10003 core routers, QFX5120 aggregation routers, and vSRX firewalls.
  • Greenfield Deployment Ownership: Take full technical responsibility for new site and network expansions, ensuring seamless integration from the fiber access network (Layer 2 PON OLTs) interface through the Layer 3 core.
  • Protocol & Software Focus: Focus intensively on the software and protocol components of the network. Design and build proof-of-concept lab environments to test and validate new features, concepts, and system upgrades before production deployment.
  • Internet Routing Expertise: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot complex Internet routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPFv3, EVPN-VXLAN) and traffic tuning within the service provider environment.
  • Process-Driven Implementation: Ensure all deployments follow documented procedures and are completed accurately, minimizing service impact and contributing to a highly reliable network.

What You Bring

  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Demonstrated ability to manage all technical phases of a deployment, from provisioning to optimization.
  • Technical Curiosity & Rigor: Drives technical learning by creating labs and tearing down/rebuilding systems to master concepts.
  • Accountable Execution: Consistently delivers measurable, high-quality technical work within project timelines.
  • Process Discipline: Focuses on repeatable, well-documented technical actions to ensure network stability.

Experience & Technical Expertise

  • Deep Juniper Knowledge: Proven experience with Junos OS and the listed platforms (MX, QFX, vSRX).
  • Practical Service Provider Hands-On experience, especially with network segmentation and high-availability architecture.
  • Strong proficiency in Internet Routing and associated best practices.
  • Implementation and operation knowledge of Firewall policies and VPNs.

Education

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
  • Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Networking, or Security, or equivalent work experience.
