About Timbertrain:

Timbertrain Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roaster and cafe committed to delivering an exceptional coffee experience. We are looking for cafe manager to join our team at our East Vancouver location. The ideal candidate should have passion for all things coffee, excellent customer service skills, and strong ability to collaborate. We're looking for a motivated and hands-on Cafe Manager to lead with confidence and uphold the standards that define Timbertrain.

About the Role:

As Cafe Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing daily cafe operations, leading, and supporting the team, and ensuring every guest receives a welcoming, high-quality experience. You'll play an active role in team development, inventory management, and maintaining smooth coordination with the roasting and admin teams.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong leadership and communication skills, and is passionate about specialty coffee and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the team to deliver excellent customer service and product quality
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, ordering/managing inventory, cash handling, and opening/closing procedures
  • Foster a positive, growth-oriented workplace culture
  • Ensure all drinks, food, and retail offerings meet quality standards
  • Support baristas with ongoing training, feedback, and development
  • Monitor cafe performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Maintain clear communication between the cafe, roastery, and management teams
  • Stay informed about Timbertrain's coffee line up, including origin, flavour profiles, and brewing methods, to educate and assist customers.
  • Adherence to health and safety standards including food safety and hygiene protocols, to ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of cafe or restaurant management experience (specialty coffee experience preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Understanding of cafe operations including scheduling, ordering, and cost control
  • Availability for a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
