Qualifications you have:
-Someone who has experience in an optometric setting, optical dispensing experience with patients (1 year minimum). Optician license welcomed but not required.

-Good with details
-Someone who has clerical, telephone and/or administrative experience
-Accountable and responsible
-Someone who likes to smile and likes helping people
-Interested in learning new things
- Computer proficiency (tasks usually include using our eyecare EMR, sending emails & submitting online insurance claims)
-A strong communicator, especially verbal
-Great customer service skills
-Able to follow directions
-Able to work evenings and/or weekends (Saturdays)
Responsibilities:
- Accept and evaluate written prescriptions from doctors or patients
- Ask all patients about their lifestyle, fashion and sun protection needs.
- Be able to analyze the patients' features, take accurate measurements and make recommendations regarding patient frames and lenses
- Place all lab orders by the end of the day
- Inspect all completed lab orders
- Place follow-up phone calls to new patients or new progressive wearers after 2 weeks
- Repair broken frames and lenses as needed
- Adjust patient frames as needed
- Keep accurate notes and records
- Rotate inventory and change displays
- Order frames and lenses as per policy
- Fit and dispense contact lenses
- Train contact lens patients
- Potentially meet with frame, lens, and contact lens reps
Starting Wage
$23/hour

Our position includes training to the successful candidate on how optical dispensing is administered in our clinic, using our EMR and practices to maintain our standard of providing an exceptional experience to everyone who visits.
