Key Job Functions:

  • Complete tasks assigned by supervisors
  • Operate various production machines, including belling/bending/pulling stations and cutting tools
  • Cut, bevel, and glue fittings as needed
  • Inspect finished products for quality and defects
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Communicate material or tool needs to supervisor
  • Support shipping with packing and priority orders
  • Promote health and safety practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and complete special projects as needed

Possible Duties

  • Outside in a heated tent
  • Use machines to cut lengths of pipe
  • Lift pipe onto conveyor and feed through saw
  • Stack cut pipe in transfer crates for transport to next station
  • Involves lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Place cut pipe end in small glycerin filled deep fryer to heat for molding
  • Lift pipe out of deep fryer and push onto mold for flaring
  • Involves regular lifting of about 20 lbs. and pushing the pipe onto the mold
  • Remove pipe from mold, place in water tub to cool, then place into transfer crate for transport to next station
  • Average cycle time is about 30 seconds
  • Use router to bevel the inside of cut pipe
  • Place pipe in large glycerin tank for heating
  • Fully automated, operator only needs to place the pipe in the tank and press a button
  • Remove heated pipe from glycerin tank and guide onto Reiber press for end flaring and gasket insertion
  • Fully automated, operator only needs to hold the pipe in place
  • Remove "belled" pipe from Reiber press and place in water tub for cooling
  • Stack cooled pipe in a crate or on a pallet for transfer to WIP zone, stock, or next workstation
  • Involves regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Average cycle time varies from a few minutes up to 45 minutes depending on pipe size and thickness

Requirements

  • Prior experience or familiarity with packaging, forklift operation, or food industry processes is preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or food processing environments is advantageous
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of sanitation procedures are beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on food safety standards
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately for measurements and quality checks
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate machinery safely
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures

Skills/Knowledge:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the warehouse and/or manufacturing industry
  • High School diploma or post-secondary education in manufacturing
  • Good understanding of mathematics and measurements for cutting, threading, bending, and assembling materials
  • Ability to use a tape measure for determining lengths in inches and feet
  • Can communicate effectively in English (speaking and understanding particularly).

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing warehouse environment
  • Can be prolonged periods of standing and walking, traversing up and down flights of stairs
  • Use of fiberglass and glue related chemicals
  • Use of machines that produce high volume noise, and high outputs of heat
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre up to 50 lbs daily

Schedule: Mon-Thursday 6:00AM to 4:30PM – 10 hours per day shifts

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
