Cleaners (Facility Attendants)

Job Description

The Works is seeking reliable, motivated Facility Attendants to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors. This role involves a mix of cleaning, general maintenance, and facility support tasks across both the Aquarena and the Field House. Shifts may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and midnight rotations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the facilities
• Maintain cleanliness in changerooms, washrooms, fitness areas, courts, pool areas, and common spaces
• Complete routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing
• Identify and address maintenance issues promptly; report concerns when needed
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment at all times
• Assist with outdoor duties including parking lot upkeep and snow clearing as required
• Participate in all required training and orientations

Education & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and cleaning best practices
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment safely
• Strong attention to detail with solid time-management and organizational skills
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality work
• Effective verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or within a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Clear Code of Conduct (Criminal Record Check) and Vulnerable Sector Check

Additional Experience:

• Commercial cleaning or janitorial experience
• 2–4 years of experience in cleaning or maintenance roles (recreation or commercial facility experience preferred)
• Customer service experience
