Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and excellent communication skills, as well as experience in a laboratory setting.

Duties

• Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
• Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
• Assist veterinary staff with laboratory tasks as needed, including sample collection and preparation.
• Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Provide information on preventative care, nutrition, and general pet wellness to clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in veterinary technology or related field is a plus.
• Previous experience as a receptionist or in customer service, preferably in a veterinary or medical setting.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and terminology is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact positively with clients and team members.
• Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy in all interactions.
• Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling, record keeping, and communication.

Pay: $18.00-$24.49 per hour
