KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Manager – Works Operations, the Superintendent, Roads & Sidewalks is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Roads & Sidewalks and Mechanics Divisions. This includes scheduling jobs, allocating materials and equipment, and coordinating and supervising the activities and performance of the employees and sub-contractors working for the respective divisions. The incumbent enforces safety regulations, policies and procedures and initiates safe practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field along with a minimum of 6 years' experience in civil engineering and/or a related field, and a minimum of 4 years' progressive experience supervising or managing staff. The incumbent is required to be a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET); however, educational equivalencies and/or experience may be considered.
SALARY
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $154,912 per annum, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including a monthly housing and travel allowance totalling $450 per month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
