Job Description Summary
The IT Operations Support Specialist supports campus technology operations by coordinating the full lifecycle of technology supplies, equipment, and software requests. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory records, collaborating with end users and IT technicians to identify technology needs, coordinating deliveries, validating orders, supporting equipment deployment scheduling, and managing surplus, scrap, and certified disposal activities.
The specialist also develops and updates operational procedures related to technology procurement, storage, deployment, inventory control, and disposal.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Computer related field.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong organizational and communication skills as well as familiarity with computers, printers, Microsoft products, and related IT workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in FreshService, Colleague, or similar ticketing and procurement systems.
Experience in technology inventory management or asset control in an IT environment.

Maintain and update inventory records for technology supplies and equipment.
Coordinate deliveries with Central Receiving and route items to appropriate locations, including secure IT storage.
Verify shipments against purchase orders in Colleague, reconcile discrepancies, and conduct regular audits to ensure accurate asset documentation.
Job Duty
Collaborate with end users and IT technicians to identify and validate technology requirements.
Process software and equipment requests using the institution's ticketing or request management platform.
Assist with scheduling equipment deployments and create or update related service tickets to support workflow tracking.
Provide clear communication to departments regarding status, timelines, and procedural requirements.
Job Duty
Coordinate with approved vendors to obtain quotes for hardware, software, and related services.
Submit quotes and supporting documentation through established workflows.
Support the full procurement lifecycle from initiation through fulfillment using tools such as the ticketing platform, WebCheckout, and Colleague.
Job Duty
Evaluate surplus and scrap technology items to determine appropriate disposition.
Manage ETR processing for asset removal.
Arrange certified disposal through approved vendors and maintain documentation to ensure appropriate handling and recordkeeping.

Develop and update procedures governing technology inventory, procurement workflows, deployment, storage, and disposal.
Monitor procedural effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and asset security.
Provide guidance to departments and IT staff on standards, policies, and best practices related to asset management.
Assist IT leadership in implementing new processes and communicating operational changes.
