We are seeking a Traffic Control Supervisor to join our team The selected individual will oversee traffic flow and ensure safety on construction sites and roadways. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and a solid understanding of construction site protocols. This role is essential for maintaining smooth operations and safeguarding workers and the public during construction activities. Prior experience with construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks is highly desirable. All work in state and no out of state travel
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all traffic control devices are properly set up and maintained throughout the work shift.
- Coordinate with construction teams to facilitate the movement of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, and dump trucks.
- Support paving operations and other construction activities by providing traffic management support.
- Monitor work zones for potential hazards and communicate safety concerns promptly.
- Operate heavy machinery such as caterpillar equipment, graders, loaders, and other heavy-duty vehicles as needed.
- Assist in utility locating to prevent damage to underground utilities during construction activities.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in construction site management or traffic control preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, front loader truck, dump truck, and utility locating.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction zones and traffic management.
- Ability to operate or assist with heavy machinery operation safely and effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively with crew members, project management, subcontractors, and clients
- Valid certifications related to traffic control or heavy equipment operation are advantageous.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
- Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Requires good manual dexterity; as you may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
