Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and repair needs of two residential homes used for a mental health facility. This position ensures the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the properties, supporting a safe and therapeutic environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
• Handle basic repairs including painting, drywall, minor plumbing/electrical work, door/window repairs, and appliance maintenance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Coordinate with licensed contractors for complex or specialized repairs.
• Maintain a schedule for seasonal tasks (e.g., snow removal, landscaping, gutter cleaning).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility standards.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Document all maintenance activities and report major issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Proven experience in residential or facility maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and comply with confidentiality and safety protocols.
• Valid Drivers License required
• must be able to pass a background check

Working Conditions:

• Travel between two residential locations as needed.
• Must be available for occasional after-hours emergencies.
• May involve lifting up to 50 pounds and working in varied weather conditions.
