CLASSIFICATION: Full-time seasonal

REPORTS TO: Locker Room Building Manager, Executive Chef

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The 10th Tee Cook reports directly to the Locker Room Building Manager and/or Executive Chef. Primary responsibility consists sound knowledge of the menu while utilizing their skills to determine taste, proper cooking technique, presentation, timing, and product utilization, at all times, while servicing the members and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to work on time and uniform meets Club requirements.
  • Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables, and other items required for line and special function purposes and assigned.
  • Takes inventory of all items required for station set-up and determines those items that require preparation.
  • Notifies Locker Room Building Manager of expected shortages.
  • Sets-up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station.
  • Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable.
  • Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment.
  • Closes the 10th Tee kitchen properly using the closing checklist.
  • Ensures our members have a superior dining experience by correctly timing and preparing all food product.
  • Carefully follows the club's recipes when preparing all items.
  • Assists with the preparation of other food products in other kitchen areas as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Washes dishes as needed.
  • Uses safe and sanitary food handling procedures including those relating to personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Maintains a clean workstation and equipment.
  • Help dispose of trash and food-preparation waste as required and at the end of a shift.
  • Attends staff meetings and offers suggestions when appropriate.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the 10th Tee Attendants and Locker Room Attendants to ensure that all food product is prepared and ready for service at the correct time.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ensures safety measures are in place and company safety program is followed.
  • Perform effectively in either an indoor or outdoor setting.
  • Complies with basic safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain effective employee and Member relations.
  • Excellent verbal communication.
  • Must be able to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail, ability to multitask.
  • Must be able to work large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training in the private Club or hospitality setting, required.
  • Serve Safe or Food Safety State Equivalent, preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • The employee is regularly required to stand and/or sit for long hours.
  • Must use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel culinary equipment.
  • Must be able to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
  • Must reach with hands and arms.
  • May work outdoors and be exposed to wet and/or hot conditions.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, sharp objects, extreme heat (non-weather) and/or open flame; risk of electrical shock and vibrations.
  • Exposed to a usually moderate noise level.
  • Ability to perform first aid and CPR while utilizing the emergency equipment.
  • Move or lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push or pull.
  • Communication, to include: reading, hearing, and talking with employees and Members.
  • Must have close, distance, peripheral, and color vision along with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
