Position Summary
The Cashier/Barista at Epicure Cafe will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing high-quality beverages, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and create a friendly, positive atmosphere.
• Assist guests with menu selections, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
• Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and promptly.
• Operate the cash register/POS system accurately.
• Process cash, card, and digital payments.
• Maintain an organized and clean checkout area.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, espresso-based beverages, and specialty drinks following café recipes.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other equipment safely.
• Maintain consistency in drink quality, taste, and presentation.
• Restock and rotate coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other ingredients.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Restock display cases and ensure items look fresh and appealing.
• Keep the café tidy, including tables, counters, equipment, and floors.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth service flow.
• Assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies.
• Follow café policies, safety guidelines, and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Able to multi-task
• Ability to stand for long period so time, lift 25 lbs., and bend, climb or work in confined spaces
• Customer service focused and solution oriented
• Basic math skills and Toast POS familiarity.
• Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs
• Food handler's card may be required according to local and or state regulations
