Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily specials
- Handle food safely during storage, handling, and cooking processes to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence
- Participate in catering events or special functions as needed, ensuring all meals meet high standards of quality and presentation
Experience
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering, or hospitality environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are highly valued
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques are essential for efficiency and precision in the kitchen
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus, demonstrating attention to special dietary needs and restrictions
