Senior Learning Designer

About the Opportunity:

The organization aims to reinvent language learning by providing an AI-powered, conversation-first tutor that offers instant feedback and structured lessons. It delivers a complete learning path from beginner to confident speaker across multiple languages and serves learners globally. The organization has established a leading presence since its launch in 2019, operating with a distributed team across multiple international locations.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to ESL/EFL curriculum development balancing pedagogy, difficulty, and engagement

• Design and write effective learning materials in English for ESL/EFL learners at various proficiency levels

• Manage end-to-end delivery of ESL/EFL content projects with multiple contributors

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and global teams across markets and time zones

• Participate in quarterly and annual ESL/EFL learner strategy planning

• Evaluate content effectiveness using QA results, analytics, and user feedback; propose improvements

• Ensure quality and consistency of ESL/EFL content within assigned scope

• Support content standards and workflows through peer reviews, best practice sharing, and training

Requirements:

• Native-level fluency in verbal and written English to produce engaging lesson materials

• Proven experience designing ESL/EFL curriculum or learning content in an ed tech environment

• Strong instructional writing and curriculum planning skills with attention to detail and pedagogical rigor

• Deep user empathy for ESL/EFL learners and sound judgment on effective learning materials

• Strong project management and organizational skills working with multiple stakeholders

• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to improve course quality

• Passion for technology-assisted language learning and proficiency with modern tools (e.g., Notion, Slack, chatGPT, Claude, Dropbox)

Preferred:

• Bilingual or multilingual background or cultural familiarity with EFL learner markets such as France, Japan, Korea, LATAM, Taiwan, or Vietnam

• Professional experience working with AI
