Our commitment to innovation and excellence makes us a trusted partner for enterprises seeking to leverage data and AI for strategic advantage.

About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join Cloudera's Anywhere Cloud team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the architecture and delivery of AI-powered workflows that are core to our product offerings. Your expertise will help define the technical strategy, set standards for quality and reliability, and deliver comprehensive end-to-end systems that convert ambiguous customer needs into robust, measurable, and privacy-safe AI experiences. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Data Science, and Go-To-Market to develop and deploy high-impact features at scale. Your role will involve designing scalable AI workflow architectures, integrating foundation models, and optimizing system performance and cost-efficiency, all while ensuring ethical and responsible AI deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • Proficiency in at least one primary programming language (preferably Rust, Python, Go, or Java)
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures including containers, service mesh, queues, and event-driven systems
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into user interfaces, including AI assistants, natural language interfaces, and intelligent visualizations
  • Knowledge of the AI/ML ecosystem: LLMs, vector databases, RAG, prompt engineering, and tools such as MLflow, LangChain, or Hugging Face
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security best practices, including PII handling and compliance
  • Experience managing machine learning workloads on Kubernetes, including GPU resource management, distributed training, and model deployment

Responsibilities

  • Design, evolve, and document the end-to-end AI workflow architecture, including prompting, retrieval, tools/function-calling, agents, orchestration, evaluation, observability, and safety
  • Build and maintain reliable, low-latency production systems that integrate foundation models and microservices
  • Own the full lifecycle of feature delivery, from user interface to backend services
  • Implement comprehensive testing frameworks—unit, regression, and end-to-end—to ensure deterministic and predictable AI system behavior
  • Establish safety guardrails, human-in-the-loop processes, and ethical guidelines to produce accurate and non-toxic outputs
  • Optimize system performance and cost-efficiency through instrumentation, analysis, caching, batching, and autoscaling strategies
  • Shape data contracts, feedback mechanisms, labeling strategies, and feature stores to enhance model and workflow quality
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and promote high coding and design standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions and influence product roadmaps

Benefits

  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy and unplugged days to support work-life balance
  • Flexible work-from-home arrangements
  • Comprehensive wellness programs for mental and physical health
  • Reimbursement for phone and internet expenses
  • Opportunities for ongoing career development and training
  • Competitive salary packages and benefits
  • Paid volunteer time to encourage community engagement
  • Access to Employee Resource Groups fostering diversity and inclusion
