Certified Peer Support Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide support and guidance to individuals dealing with mental health challenges by sharing your own lived experiences and offering encouragement.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage with clients and promote positive behavioral changes
• Provide mentoring and support to individuals in navigating the behavioral health system
• Offer crisis intervention and assist individuals in managing mental health crises
• Collaborate with professionals in social work, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and crisis management to ensure comprehensive care for clients
• Advocate for clients within the healthcare and social services systems
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Peer Specialist
• Proficiency in motivational interviewing, mentoring, crisis intervention, behavioral health, mental health counseling, social work, addiction counseling, and crisis management
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Compassionate and empathetic approach towards supporting individuals with mental health challenges
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
