Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
  • Schedule appointments efficiently, accommodating urgent cases and routine visits alike
  • Handle medical billing, collections, and insurance processing with accuracy and professionalism
  • Manage phone inquiries, providing clear information about services, procedures, and pet care advice
  • Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results using veterinary software
  • Assist with kennel duties such as animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and monitoring pet behavior
  • Support veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations or procedures, ensuring safety for both animals and staff
  • Facilitate laboratory sample collection and processing while adhering to aseptic techniques
  • Assist with animal catheterization procedures when necessary, following proper protocols
  • Provide pet care advice related to grooming, training, or general animal handling to pet owners

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy to communicate effectively with staff and clients
  • Experience in animal handling across various species including dogs, cats, horses, and small mammals
  • Proficiency in medical collection techniques such as blood draws or lab sample collection
  • Kennel experience coupled with animal husbandry skills to ensure proper care of hospitalized pets
  • Ability to perform dog training or pet grooming tasks when needed to support client services
  • Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and laboratory procedures for diagnostic testing
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining treatment plans and pet care instructions clearly
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during medical procedures or sample handling

Pay: $ $17.00 per hour
