SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager is a hunter-focused sales role responsible for driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth within The Fi Company's Northwest region, primarily representing the Seattle manufacturing center Core processes include a variety of industrial plastics manufacturing methods. This position owns territory planning, prospecting, pipeline development, and closing of new business, while working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver high-value, technically driven manufacturing solutions.
 

This role is ideal for a consultative, technically minded sales professional with a proven track record of opening new accounts, developing opportunities, and converting complex RFQs into profitable, long-term customer relationships.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Own territory planning, prospecting strategy, and pipeline development for the Northwest region.

· Identify, pursue, and close new customer opportunities aligned with Seattle's core manufacturing capabilities.

· Develop and execute a disciplined sales process.

· Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.

· Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and customer meetings to generate leads and build relationships.

· Identify and engage key decision-makers within procurement, engineering, quality, and operations teams.

· Lead and participate in the RFQ process, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive responses.

· Collaborate with Program Management, NPI teams, Operations, and Finance to successfully launch new customer programs.

· Provide pricing input and margin analysis in coordination with Sales leadership and executive management.

· Develop accurate sales forecasts by opportunity, including scope, timelines, and expected revenue.

· Lead customer inputs for end-to-end product lifecycle processes—from concept and design through development, launch, maintenance, and end-of-life—to ensure alignment with business objectives.

· Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reports, forecasts, and activity documentation.

· Travel within the region to support sales efforts.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Minimum of 5 years of outside B2B industrial sales experience, preferably in consultative or technical manufacturing sales.

· Demonstrated success opening new accounts and growing revenue within an assigned territory.

· Existing relationships with decision-makers and influencers in target customer segments is a strong plus.

· Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Business Administration, or related field).

· Experience interpreting customer drawings, CAD files, or technical specifications.

· Background selling solutions involving plastic molding, precision sheet metal, or related manufacturing processes preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Proven hunter mentality with strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.

· Ability to sell complex, value-based manufacturing solutions to executive-level stakeholders.

· Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate risk, pricing, and margin considerations.

· Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.

· Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, engineering, and finance.

· Ability to evaluate engineering data sets (drawings, CAD models, BOMs) for effective assessment of opportunities 

· Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

· Familiarity with ERP systems and sales reporting tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires travel within the assigned territory . The position involves regular use of computers, phones, and presentation tools, as well as time spent in office, customer, and manufacturing environments.
 

Occasional extended work hours and weekend work may be required to meet customer and business needs.
