How you'll contribute 

Our Radiology Technicians assist our doctors with the intake and communication of patients.    We expect all of our employees to be polite and courteous at all times, but we also expect our RTs to go above and beyond to do what is in their expertise to make the best patient experience possible.  In order to do so, please consider the following responsibilities: 

  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
  • Prepares equipment and supplies
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
  • Be dedicated, dependable, and fast-paced. 
  • Must be a self-thinker and use good decision-making and judgment skills
  • Exemplify knowledge of computers and fax machines 
  • Digital Imaging, upload, burn, and file CDs and films 
  • Knowledge and operation of C-Arm 
  • Perform Fluoroscopy Back up 
  • Perform DEXA exams 
  • Obtain patient vitals and enter patient intake forms 
  • Assess and prepare for the day's schedule 
  • Bring up computer systems in each exam room as necessary 
  • Discuss and document patient histories (medical social, family histories, allergies, medications, surgical procedures, etc.) 
  • Be a patient advocate, relaying concerns to the doctor 
  • Assisting doctors with procedures (ex. Kyphoplasty) 
  • Obtaining and maintaining continuing education credits 
  • Maintain the work flow for the doctors keeping study incoming/outgoing pts to keep the doctors on schedule. 
  • Alert Lead when office/medical supplies are needed 
  • Clean and stock procedure rooms as necessary
  • Replace bed linens when necessary 
  • Safe handling of all hazardous materials (biohazard waste) according to OSHA requirements 
  • Sterilization of medical instruments and proper set up of trays 
  • Assist other clinical staff when needed 
  • Rotate staying late/ working through lunch due to late patient office visits with co-workers for staff coverage 
  • Maintain positive attitude 
  • Obtain patient signatures for surgeries 
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and bending

What we're looking for 

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.

Additional requirements include: 

  • (VA) State Radiation Operators License or Temporary (VA) State Radiation Operators license

  • Certification ARRT certification within 6 months of hire 

  • BCLS within 90 days of hire

  • Athena (EHR) knowledge, preferred

  • Proficient data entry skills 

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision 

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
