Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or adapt to the classroom needs with your own prepared activities.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Engage students through interactive teaching methods tailored to different age groups and learning styles.
• Support students' social-emotional development by encouraging positive interactions and behavior management strategies.
• Assist with classroom routines such as attendance, transitions, and basic childcare duties.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to ensure clarity around student progress and classroom needs.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while fostering an inclusive atmosphere that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Requirements

• Must be available Monday through Friday including days when public schools are closed. Must be available to work between the hours of 6:30am-5:30pm (8/9 hour shifts with break).
• Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or early childhood education.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students effectively.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 30 per week
