As a Manufacturing Engineer at OOW, you will drive operational excellence by developing and implementing innovative process improvements across our production facilities. What you'll do
We're seeking a skilled and driven Manufacturing Engineer to help shape the future of our firearm production. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes that boost efficiency and minimize waste. You'll collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure seamless integration of firearm components, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Your day-to-day will include analyzing production data to identify bottlenecks, designing and refining tooling and equipment, and providing hands-on technical support to resolve production challenges. You'll play a key role in root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and developing rework and repair procedures in line with customer contract requirements.
We're looking for someone passionate about continuous improvement, with experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. You'll also be responsible for creating and maintaining clear process documentation, including SOPs and work instructions, and partnering with quality control to ensure every product meets our uncompromising standards.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or 3+ years in a manufacturing technical or engineering role.
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role supporting CNC machining and assembly.
- Extensive CAD background, specifically SolidWorks, with the ability to create and modify models and drawings to support production.
- Extensive knowledge of GD&T
This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in firearms manufacturing or a related industry is highly preferred.
- Green Belt Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Work is performed across a 10-acre campus with six buildings. Frequent walking between buildings in all weather conditions is required.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with some exposure to slip and trip hazards, bright lights, frequent exposure to noise and moving equipment
- Work environment requires standing or walking for up to 50% of the shift
- Must be able to wear all required PPE in designated areas
