Position: Patient Care Tech

Shift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am Part Time 24 hours a week, 48 hours per pay period Days

The Patient Care Technician/Health Unit Coordinator (PCT/HUC) role combines the essential roles of the PCT and HUC into one role that will function based upon operational needs.
The PCT is a multi-skilled individual able to perform technical and clinical tasks/procedures under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and delegated in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Identities abnormal findings based on established standards and guidelines and reports those findings to the Registered Nurse.
The HUC is pivotal in the overall function of the unit including coordinating communication, data entry and stocking/ordering of supplies. Provides clerical assistance to physicians and staff. Provides direction and guidance to patients, families and visitors while promoting a positive patient experience. Tasks are performed under the oversight of the RN in coordination with other team members.
Education: You'll need a high school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of one of the following:
- Completion of previous STNA or CNA training or Patient Care Technician/Assistant training.
- Direct patient care experience within the last five years: Performing fundamental skills of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) & direct patient care activities, ie. Bathing, turning/positioning, toileting
- Currently enrolled in nursing school and have completed at least one clinical rotation.
**Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation. This is instead of the above requirements. **

- You can handle doing many things simultaneously, even when people interrupt you, and still be nice.
- You know how to use a computer.
- You're good at organizing things.
- You can talk and listen well to others.
- Bonus points: You've worked in a hospital before.
