Hotel Maintenance Assistant

Position

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support our Maintenance Manager and the maintenance team in daily upkeep of the hotels. This role helps ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and building systems are functioning properly and maintained to brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as:
• Minor plumbing repairs (unclogging drains, replacing fixtures)
• Basic electrical work (changing bulbs, resetting breakers)
• HVAC filter changes and basic troubleshooting
• Painting, patching, and general repairs
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed
• Conduct daily property walks to identify issues
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop and storage areas
• Assist with pool and spa operations (testing chemicals, cleaning, backwashing)
• Use proper safety procedures and follow hotel policies
• Provide friendly and professional customer service when interacting with guests
• Support other departments as needed

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, handyman, or building operations experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on your feet throughout the shift
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Willingness to learn hotel-specific brand standards and procedures

Schedule

• Weekdays and weekends
• Holidays as needed
• Some on-call or emergency response may be required
