About Vital Lyfe

At Vital Lyfe, we are on a mission to solve global water scarcity by creating innovative, desalination systems. This is an opportunity to join a passionate, multidisciplinary team tackling one of the world's most critical challenges

Mission

Lead the design and development of advanced sensors that drive our cutting-edge water desalination products.

What You'll Do

  • Lead development of sensor-based systems, including signal conditioning, interfacing, and environmental integration.

  • Design and prototype analog and digital sensor circuits, incorporating PCB layout where appropriate.

  • Evaluate and select sensor technologies (temperature, pressure, flow, conductivity, etc.) for performance, cost, and reliability in harsh environments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define sensing requirements, system interfaces, and integration constraints from concept through production.

  • Develop calibration and testing procedures to validate sensor performance across environmental conditions.

  • Support embedded system integration, working closely with firmware and mechanical engineering teams.

  • Contribute to DFM/DFT efforts and assist in transitioning sensor assemblies to scalable manufacturing processes.

  • Research emerging sensor technologies and recommend novel approaches to measurement and system feedback challenges.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in sensor system design and development (internship experience considered).

  • Proficiency with electronics CAD tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle) and lab instruments for validation and troubleshooting.

  • Solid understanding of analog/digital signal chains, noise reduction, filtering, and interface protocols.

  • Familiarity with microcontrollers and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills across electrical and system layers.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded firmware development for sensor data acquisition and processing.

  • Knowledge of calibration, linearization, and compensation techniques for sensor signals.

  • Background in data acquisition systems, real-time control, or feedback systems.

  • Exposure to environmental testing (e.g., thermal, vibration, ingress protection).

  • Understanding of fluid systems, water quality sensors, or process instrumentation.

  • Familiarity with ruggedized or field-deployable sensing systems.

Physical Job Requirements - Essential Functions

  • Hands on work on development hardware.

  • Long periods of standing, crouching, walking.

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
