Head of Finance– Behavioral Health (PHP/IOP)

Compensation: $90,000 – $130,000 annually (Base + KPI-Based Incentive Structure)

Position Summary
The Head of Finance will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for all financial operations, reporting, and compliance. This role requires a proactive and analytical leader with hands-on experience in behavioral health finance, PHP/IOP program billing, and start-up growth environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial management including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Develop and implement internal financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and insurance regulations.
• Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial analysis for program efficiency.
• Collaborate with leadership to support strategic planning, budgeting, and expansion initiatives.
• Partner with clinical and administrative teams to monitor financial performance and KPI targets.
• Oversee revenue cycle management, payer contracts, and financial compliance related to PHP/IOP services.
• Provide regular financial reporting to the Executive Director and CEO.
• Lead annual audits and ensure adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in financial leadership within the behavioral health or healthcare sector (PHP/IOP experience required).
• Proven success in start-up or growth-phase behavioral health organizations.
• Deep understanding of payer systems, RCM processes, and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset.
• Experience managing KPI-driven financial performance and incentive structures.
