Position Summary

As a Kitchen Manager, you will oversee all back-of-house (BOH) operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, adherence to safety standards, and an outstanding dining experience for every guest. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in managing kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, optimizing costs, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Master and oversee all kitchen and dining room systems and operations, leading effective shifts across all areas of the restaurant.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to assistant managers and team members, focusing on food quality, safety, sanitation, and company policies.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company systems, standards, and cost controls, driving operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Local Owner to set and communicate clear performance goals regularly.
  • Maintain open, effective communication with guests, team members, management, owners, and vendors.
  • Oversee BOH staffing, scheduling, and labor management to balance guest satisfaction and labor cost goals.
  • Supervise inventory management procedures, coaching assistant managers on inventory responsibilities.
  • Manage BOH budgets, forecasting needs, and effectively tracking expenditures.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire for all departments to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Ensure compliance with food and service standards, fostering a positive guest experience on every shift.
  • Uphold a clean and safe working environment, ensuring exterior and interior areas meet cleanliness standards.
  • Follow and enforce safety protocols, including proper equipment operation and handling of food items.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities, work under pressure, and exercise sound judgment.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of full-service, high-volume restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and motivational skills with a proven ability to attract, train, and retain top talent.
  • Strong guest service focus, dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Financial acumen to define, measure, and achieve goals, including sales growth, guest count increases, and cost management.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, lift, reach, and transport items up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, and using hands to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Comfortable working in environments with heat exposure and food-handling tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40, $55,000.00 per year
