Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Location: Conway, SC (Onsite)
Job Type: Fulltime
Salary Range: $90,000 to 110,000/Year
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to provide leadership, technical expertise, and oversight for all EH&S programs at our Conway, SC, while also offering technical assistance to international locations. This role operates independently with guidance from the HR Manager, President, and Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all EH&S programs to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with company policies, vision, and values.
- Develop, recommend, and implement effective EH&S strategies that support operational goals and customer requirements.
- Support permitting activities and integrate EH&S requirements into facility growth initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Quality, and other departments to streamline processes and strengthen the safety culture.
- Lead employee teams and drive continuous improvement in EH&S performance.
- Conduct accident, incident, and injury investigations and follow up on corrective actions.
- Prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations for employees, management, corporate teams, and international divisions.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings for approximately 200 employees.
- Lead the Safety Committee and facilitate monthly meetings.
- Support stormwater testing, tracking, reporting, and handling (experience preferred).
- Collaborate with Maintenance and vendors on PPE, security systems, parking lot regulations, and related requirements.
- Participate in evening or off-hour meetings with corporate and international teams as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations, theories, and best practices.
- Ability to communicate EH&S initiatives effectively across all organizational levels.
- Ability to identify strategic opportunities and focus resources on critical EH&S priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Understanding of workers' compensation strategies and case management.
- Working knowledge of TSCA requirements and SDS management.
- Strong program and budget management capabilities.
- Ability to manage the site's Hearing Conservation Program, including noise monitoring and audiometric compliance.
- Experience with environmental compliance programs (RCRA, DOT Hazmat, Tier II, Form R, Title V Air).
- Skilled in OSHA programs such as HAZWOPER, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and respiratory protection.
- Familiarity with industrial hygiene monitoring and air sampling; sound survey experience (or ability to learn).
- Knowledge of chemical and product compliance standards including REACH and RoHS.
- Experience with quality systems and continuous improvement tools (Six Sigma preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
- On-call availability during nights, weekends, holidays, with ability to respond onsite if needed.
Experience & Education
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing workers' compensation cases and implementing behavioral safety programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Must meet ITAR and EAR eligibility requirements.
