A well-established, full-service hotel in the Austin, Texas market is seeking an experienced and highly capable General Manager to lead all aspects of hotel operations. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, business-minded hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, owner-operator environment and understands the nuances of a competitive urban market.

Position Overview

The General Manager will have full responsibility for the overall performance of the hotel, including operations, revenue strategy, sales execution, food & beverage, and facility oversight. The role requires close partnership with an engaged owner-operator and demands strong financial acumen, operational discipline, and leadership presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership of a full-service hotel, ensuring excellence in guest experience, service standards, and operational execution
  • Drive top-line performance through a strong understanding of revenue management, forecasting, pricing strategy, and market demand
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to develop and execute strategies that grow group, corporate, and transient business
  • Oversee Food & Beverage operations, including outlets, banquets, cost controls, and service quality
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of major mechanical systems (HVAC, boilers, chillers, life safety, etc.) and collaborate with vendors and ownership on capital planning and preventive maintenance
  • Manage financial performance including budgeting, labor management, and cost containment
  • Recruit, develop, and lead department heads, fostering accountability and a high-performance culture
  • Serve as the primary liaison with ownership, providing transparent communication, data-driven insights, and actionable solutions

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven General Manager (or senior operations leader) experience in a full-service hotel environment
  • Strong Austin market knowledge or experience in similar high-demand urban markets
  • Solid understanding of revenue management, sales strategy, and distribution channels
  • Demonstrated leadership in Food & Beverage operations
  • Comfortable overseeing complex facilities and major mechanical systems
  • Financially savvy with experience managing labor, budgets, and profitability
  • Collaborative, accountable, and confident working directly with an owner-operator
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategy and execution
