Position Summary

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting issues and delivering electrical and mechanical solutions pertaining to facilities and building maintenance. They will plan and implement improvements to the facility while ensuring compliance with existing codes and regulations. Additionally, they will support production by developing and managing predictive and preventative maintenance schedules for designated systems or equipment. They will instruct vendors and team members while consistently demonstrating appropriate safety protocols. They will also monitors and take responsibility for all documentation and expenses associated with repair records and utility costs.

Position Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and/or electrical control issues in circuits containing transformers, disconnects, over current protection devices and general control components.
  • Review and oversee plant facilities documents and records as it relates to electrical issues, updates and mechanical components.
  • Provide direct supervision to and train facility technicians on proper safety procedures
  • Oversee long-term maintenance planning and Facilities automation activities
  • Manage and plan facility upgrade projects and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and ANC standards
  • Collaborate with contractors/subcontractors to ensure planned/predictive maintenance objectives and schedules are observed
  • Coordinate emergency and non-emergency tasks and Facilities staff and plant management as needed
  • Support Facilities activities and technical aspect as required

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience working within Facilities Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to efficiently troubleshoot, repair and modify PLC based control systems. Experience troubleshooting pneumatic valves, actuators, sensors, electric motors and other typical automation equipment
  • Experience working with electrical distribution and control systems up to 480 VAC, 3PH
  • Ability to read and interpret ladder diagrams
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E safe electrical work practices

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR an Associate's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience
