The Maintenance Associate for facilities and properties works closely with administrative and club level staff to ensure sustainability for the organization's facilities and properties. Accountable for all aspects of facilities and ground maintenance, facility safety, transportation and fleet management, supplies and equipment inventory and management, and logistics. Knows, follows, and communicates all BGCCG policies, guidelines, regulations, and procedures, including facility and ground safety and risk compliance management, especially those for the prevention of child abuse, facility safety and staff expectations as required by BGCA, BGCCG, licensing, and state and federal laws, and supports other staff to do the same.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- May require the ability to lift, carry, and load equipment, furnishings and supplies up to 50lbs.
- Work includes the frequent use of light and heavy maintenance machinery and equipment, including but not limited to: floor striping and buffing machines, push and/or riding lawnmowers, step ladders, repair tools, etc.
- Work is typically performed in a standard work week, but may require evening, weekend, or additional hours to accommodate meetings, activities, and workload.
- May require the ability to adjust focus as needed for reading documents and spreadsheets in written format or on computer screen and related equipment.
Essential Functions
SUMMARY: The Buildings & Properties Associate coordinates and/or performs all building maintenance and properties repairs with building representatives.
- Responsible for monitoring any building and ground modification projects to include workspaces, shared community spaces such as conference and break rooms, electrical, HVAC, and playgrounds.
- Perform a variety of general maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings and grounds requiring practical skills and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, lawn care, and flooring care.
- Work involves a variety of the following duties: using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; using tools to repair sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting facilities and equipment; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, replacing light bulbs, using heavy equipment to strip and wax floors, shampoo carpets, operating heavy equipment for mowing of lawns, and performing general maintenance on equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Coordinates vendors work schedules.
- Schedules, Coordinate or facilitate all maintenance repairs for existing space.
- Schedules, coordinate and monitor project from start to finish.
- Attend scheduled renovation project meetings.
- Responsible for reporting any security incidents.
- Conduct daily facility and ground walkthroughs looking for areas in need of repairs or upkeep.
- Monitor and maintain facility temperatures and HVAC systems.
- Maintains necessary reports, data, and information pertaining to work performed, maintenance, repair or preventive maintenance situations and collaborates with assigned internal staff and external or contracted maintenance personnel on various assignments.
- Perform operator maintenance on all equipment used in execution duties and report higher echelon maintenance requirements to appropriate personnel.
- Assists in training of staff in repair, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operations of equipment to improve performance and skill.
- Follows established departmental safety guidelines/standards, including use of safety equipment (e.g. head, shoe and body cover, gloves, shield, respirator, and proper tools).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years prior experience in custodial operations, building maintenance and repair, or construction management of small projects.
- Ability to simultaneously manage and complete multiple projects.
- Must possess the ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, and business contacts.
- Proven ability to identify complex program requirements.
- Experience providing advice and presenting reports to senior management officials.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and precedents.
- Proficiency in conducting detailed analyses and presenting actionable recommendations.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications background and fingerprint check is required.
- Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to identify issues and recommend workable solutions.
- Excellent communication, organization and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional groups and build internal/external relationships.
- Ability to properly manage, coordinate and prioritize resources, people, work activities and projects.
