About the Role

SmartMark is seeking a
seasoned Project Manager

to lead the planning and execution of
customer-facing programs

for leading organizations in the utilities and energy sector. This role is central to delivering complex, high-visibility initiatives that require disciplined program management, strong client partnership, and seamless coordination across internal teams.

The ideal candidate is equal parts
operator and communicator

—someone who thrives in structured environments, anticipates challenges before they arise, and inspires confidence with clients and colleagues alike. You will serve as a primary point of accountability, ensuring programs are delivered on time, on scope, and with the strategic intent our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program and project management for multiple concurrent client initiatives, from kickoff through delivery
  • Serve as a trusted client partner, managing expectations, facilitating clear communication, and ensuring alignment on goals, timelines, and outcomes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including strategists, creatives, and subject-matter experts, to deliver high-quality content and program assets
  • Translate complex requirements into actionable plans, timelines, and workstreams
  • Identify risks, resolve issues, and proactively solve problems to keep programs on track
  • Oversee content development workflows, ensuring deliverables are accurate, compelling, and aligned with client objectives
  • Support research, insights, and data analysis efforts as needed to inform strategy and strengthen program outcomes
  • Maintain clear documentation, reporting, and program governance standards

Required Qualifications (Top Must-Haves)

  • 5+ years of project and/or program management experience

, with demonstrated success managing multiple programs simultaneously
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to stakeholders and produce clear, professional documentation
- Proven client management experience, with a strong sense of professionalism and accountability
- Highly organized, self-directed, and disciplined; able to operate effectively in a
hybrid work environment

with minimal oversight
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and adapt in dynamic situations
- U.S.-based and
authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience in the
    energy, utilities, smart home, or technology

sectors
- Prior work within structured, programmatic, or regulated environments
- Exposure to research, data analysis, or insights-driven strategy
- Comfort working in consulting or agency-style settings with multiple client engagements

Compensation Range:

Approximately $100,000–$120,000 base (flexible based on experience and fit)
