Research and Development Project Manager

About the Role

Rockville Audio is seeking a dynamic
Project Manager – New Product Development
to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of new audio and electronic products. This role is ideal for a highly organized, adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance multiple complex workflows with precision and diplomacy.

· Car Audio: Amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, and more

· Pro Audio & DJ Equipment: PA speakers, amplifiers, lighting systems, microphones, and protective cases

· Recording Equipment: Studio monitors, audio interfaces, mixers, headphones, and microphones

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate
  all aspects of
  new product development
  , from concept through mass production.
• Manage
  multi-tiered project workflows
  , ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate closely with
  cross-functional teams
  including R&D, Marketing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth product launches.
• Foster clear and consistent communication with
  overseas factories
  and suppliers—translating complex product concepts into simplified, actionable instructions for non-native English speakers.
• Use project management software (
  Smartsheet, ClickUp
  ) to plan, track, and report on progress.
• Analyze project data and maintain dashboards, schedules, and cost tracking using
  Excel and Google Sheets
  .
• Proactively drive
  accountability
  and
  follow-up
  across all R&D initiatives, ensuring no task, milestone, or communication slips through the cracks.
• Adjust priorities swiftly in response to management directives or changing market conditions.
• Foster effective communication and strong working relationships across departments and international partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum
  5 years of experience
  in Project Management, ideally within
  electronics or audio equipment manufacturing
  .
• Demonstrated success managing
  complex, multi-phase product development cycles
  .
• Exceptional
  time management and organizational skills
  .
• Strong
  verbal and written communication
  skills, especially when bridging technical and non-technical audiences.
• Advanced proficiency with
  Excel and Google Sheets
  for analytics and reporting.
• Expert-level
  knowledge of
  Smartsheet, ClickUp
  , or comparable project management software (Asana, Jira, etc.).
• Proven ability to
  manage shifting priorities
  and work under tight deadlines.
• Professional, diplomatic interpersonal style and the ability to foster cross-cultural collaboration.
