Overview:
The Construction Manager III will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects. The Construction Manager III will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety compliance. This position requires strong leadership abilities, extensive construction management experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination:
- Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to project sites.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure alignment with project requirements.
2. Construction Execution and Oversight:
- Direct and oversee all construction activities on-site, including subcontractor work, equipment installations, and material handling.
- Monitor progress against project schedules and budgets, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
3. Quality Assurance and Control:
- Establish and enforce rigorous quality control procedures and standards to ensure workmanship, materials, and finished products meet project requirements.
- Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks at various stages of construction to identify and address quality issues and deviations from standards.
- Implement corrective actions and follow-up measures to ensure timely resolution of quality deficiencies.
4. Safety Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, standards, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and training sessions to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Implement risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential hazards and liabilities associated with construction activities.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams, including project managers, field personnel, subcontractors, and support staff.
- Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members and provide regular feedback and coaching to support their professional growth and development.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement among project teams.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive construction-management experience, including 5 years supervising union craft labor in steel erection or heavy industrial projects.
- Proven ability to administer multiple collective bargaining agreements and ensure PLA compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of NLRA, FLSA, OSHA Subpart R, Davis-Bacon, and state prevailing-wage requirements.
- Strong skills in budgeting, scheduling, and field coordination.
- OSHA 30-Hour certification required; PMP or CCM preferred.
- Excellent leadership, documentation, and communication skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel frequently to project sites across multiple states.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $130,000 – $145,000 annually
- Annual Bonus: Performance-based on safety, cost, schedule, and labor-compliance metrics
