Summary:

Made in Nature is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and professional HR and Payroll Assistant to join our team. This is a foundational, on-site role that provides a flexible schedule, making it an ideal opportunity for an individual currently pursuing a degree in HR or a related field who is looking to launch their career. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, this role is critical in maintaining accurate administrative functions, ensuring precise payroll execution, and supporting a positive plant environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring absolute accuracy and adherence to deadlines, and compliance.
  • Regularly monitor the company HRIS for updates and deadlines to maintain compliant with state and federal law.
  • Manage confidential employee data and maintain HR files (digital and physical) in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Handle administrative tasks for the HR department, including filing, documentation, and preparing official communications.
  • Assist the Head of HR with employee onboarding (new hire paperwork, system setup) and offboarding processes.
  • Serve as a professional and approachable point of contact for plant employees regarding basic HR, payroll, and benefits questions.
  • Partner closely with the Head of HR on sensitive employee relations issues, gaining valuable hands-on experience in investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate and support employee engagement activities and events.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, documentation, and coordination.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to learn and contribute to strategic HR initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong self-motivation to complete tasks efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a degree program (or recent graduate) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated history of being extremely detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Previous administrative experience in an office setting.
  • Familiarity or experience with payroll processing.
  • Experience utilizing an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) or other employee database.
  • A clear interest in pursuing a long-term career in Human Resources.
